I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma stage 4 with a mets to my lungs in 2005. I had a right nephrectomy at that time and and 6 weeks later I started a targeted molecular therapy for the metastases. The name of the drug was Sorafenib. Within 6 months all the tumors in my lungs were gone. I stayed on the chemo for 2.5 more years with no reoccurrence of the tumors. My oncologist took me of the chemo in 2008 so I could gain some weight and said the cancer would probably come back and it never did. almost 10 years since my diagnose. I went to get my blood work this week and my C-reactive protein was elevated at 8.6 mg per liter. Does that mean my Renal cell is acting up again?
