Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 42 year old female with no major health problems, but have not been feeling well over the last few years (since having kids). I recently had blood work done because I have been fatigued and achy and short of breath. It showed my bilirubin was slightly elevated and a positive ANA (they mentioned a slightly high RNP or something like that). A couple of years ago, by CRP levels showed up as elevated. What could this point to?
Unfortunately, the information you 've provided is not enough. A positive ANA test may mean nothing. Many autoimmune disorders - even minor or unimportant ones - may cause an elevated ana titer. Whatever is lower than 1:80 is too low. Bilirubin levels may also indicate anything between serious liver disease and the harmless Gilbert's syndrome. C-RP levels may be elevated for far too many reasons to list here but in most cases, it is caused by some sort of inflammation (infectious in origin or not).
Therefore, more information is required to get a more clear picture of your current status. Clinically important information includes any symptoms you may have (in detail) and the test reports (a scanned copy). Without the actual values, the rest of the test results (what other tests you've done) and a complete clinical picture it's too risky to draw any conclusion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis,
