What Does Elevated HCG Level During Pregnancy Indicate?

Currently pregnant around 7 weeks. Had an HCG blood draw and it went from 7,161 to 18984 (in 24 hrs) and then to 18315 (24hours after that). Could that be a cause for concern? My ultrasound I had last week showed an empty sac but also measured me to be almost a week behind. I m going for another ultrasound and blood work tomorrow.

Hi I think hcg value should increase with time. In your case , increase was good but then it went Dow. It can be due to laboratory variation also. So, you can repeat it in 48 hours in same lab. Get a ultrasound done to see for the fetal pole and heart beat. It will Gove you a clearer picture. Hope it helps.
