Hello,
Your husband's symptoms are low body temperature, elevated
lymphocyte count, and low energy levels or easy fatigability. A few causes of increased lymphocyte counts could be infection (bacterial, viral, other), cancer of the blood or
lymphatic system, an autoimmune disorder causing ongoing (chronic) inflammation, acute
lymphocytic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia,
cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, hepatitis,
hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), lymphoma, mononucleosis, syphilis, or tuberculosis.
Do complete blood picture, thyroid profile including TSH, T3 and T4, peripheral smear, ESR, CRP, and liver and kidney function tests. Most probable cause of your husband's symptoms is Hypothyroidism. Treatment depends on the cause. Please discuss the above causes and tests with your physician for appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
