Hello,
I understand and appreciate your question.
Brief Answer: Most likely is Pseudohyperkalemia in
thrombocytosis.
Detailed Answer:
The initial cause of hyperkalemia, or elevated potassium level, appears to be thrombocytosis, (Thrombocytosis is a disorder in which your body produces too many platelets) is caused by a blood and
bone marrow disease.
There is a correlation between hypercalemia and the number of platelets in the blood. Hyperkalaemia is attributed to the release of potassium from platelets during platelet aggregation and degranulation. Platelets have high concentrations of potassium, and since part of it is released during blood clotting, serum potassium is therefore high.
Hyperkalemia is potentially life-threatening because can lead to sudden death from cardiac arrhythmias. Pacemaker installation is a protection against this risk.
A continued medical follow-up is required to assess whether there is a need for medical treatment or not.
