Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As you already know the softening of brain tissue in form of
Encephalomalacia can be from various reasons leading to
inflammation or hemorrhage in the concerned region of the brain
matter.

* The most common causes among this condition are
- cerebrovascular stroke
- trauma leading to hemorrhage from vessel rupture or injury
- tumors compressing the surrounding tissue and compromised blood
supply to the concerned part of the brain

* It can pause various response on clinical grounds ranging from mild
to severe debilitating conditions in wide spread involvement of brain
either white or grey matter.

However, if you can provide me plates of your MRI or CT report, I would be in a better position to guide further in details.

Wish you best health and recovery.
Thanks.
