What Does Endometrial Thickness Of 20mm And Right Adnexal Cyst Mean?

Dear Sir/Madam,I had a medical abortion of 4 weeks 3 days pregnancy by using pills. The bleeding happened during the period of 22nd Aug-14 to 27th Aug-14 and 3rd Sep-14 to 7th Sep-14. Had an ultrasound on 17th Sep-14 and found Endometrial Thickness is 20 mm while uterus is normal in size and in anteverted position. Myometrial echotexture normal. No gestational sac seen at present. Cervix is normal. No mass lesion seen. Uterus = 70x51x67 mm.OVARIES/ADNEXA:Right adnexal cystic structure with echogenic rim is seen measuring 22 x 18mm. Ovarian stroma is seen partially encircling the cystic structure. Left ovary is normal in echo-morpjology. No abnormal intra ovarian mass lesion is noted. Left Ovary = 23 x 12mm.Minimal fluid is seen in POD.Impression: Right adnexal cyst likely (?Right ovarian corpus lutem cyst)I am very much tensed. Need your suggestion on 20 mm Endometrial Thickness & Right adnexal cyst as mentioned in the TVS report.

1.Thickened endometrium will be seen in case of incomplete abortion - but that hans not mentioned in report so its ruled out ( RPOC - retained products of conception).
2.The next possible cause id proliferative phase of the endometrium also seen thickened followed by inflammatory changes might cause the above findings.
3.Uterus, myometrium appears normal. right ovary shows a cyst which could be corpus luteal cyst which helps in process of the pregnancy for nutritional support.
4.Minimal free fluid - possible due to rupture of follicle or inflammatory pelvic disease.
5.In this case i would recommend a followup scan, if endometrium still thickened, an endometrium scraping might be needed. Good luck.
