Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter s father-in law was just placed in Hospice. He was not able to get up out of bed on his own, was not recognizing family members, and as of today is not speaking at all. The only thing they took away from the hospital report was testing confirmed a lot of grey matter. Is this a matter of Alzheimers? He has had significant back pain for many years and several surgeries on his low back that were not successful. They were also told a recent study showed those suffering chronic back pain issues over a long period were shown to have significant grey matter due to the back pain not being controlled. Can you please advise? Thank you, Kathy
