What Does Excessive Thirst At Night Indicate?

we have an 11 year old grandson that for the last week or so is acting listless, does not talk much, is thirsty at nite, pees about 2 times a nite. The boy s father , not in the picture, has ( we are told type 1 diabetes, ). we have made a doctor appointment next Monday morning . my question should he be taken to the emergency room before the appointment.

All his symptoms are more suggestive of type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes runs in family. Since his father is having type 1 diabetes, there is strong possibility to have type 1 diabetes in your son. So in my opinion, you should definitely take him to hospital and get it checked. No point i'm waiting for appointment. Rush to emergency room and rule type 1 diabetes.
