Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just found out I was Pregdant last week, they said it was too early to see on ultrasound, went for follow up blood work 3 days later, said it increased from 700s to 1000s, said not as much as would like.... now when I walk I have more discharge then just sitting, I've had brownish discharge and mild abdominal pains.... they aren't certain if its ectopic yet..... should I worry?
1. Increase in vaginal discharge during pregnancy is normal [leucorrhea] and as long as it is white, clear & odorless it means that the vagina is secreting more discharge to keep cervix moist and healthy.
PS. if the discharge becomes yellowish/green, foul smelling and accompanied with itching/redness suspect yeast infection and one may also exclude STD [sexually transmitted disease]
2. slight discharge with pain is normal within first 6 weeks of pregnancy which can indicate implantation of the embryo, however, the same symptoms can signify miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, [12 weeks] thus an episode of abdominal pain with bleeding/spotting requires the medical evaluation in pregnancy.
3. It can be hard to tell when symptoms signal the problem, so it is best to consult your attending GYN/OBG Doctor to make a diagnosis and give the right treaatment.
