Hi, I have extreme pain during digestion on the left side of my abdomen and about an inch or 2 from the belly button. It is also sensitive to the touch. Ive had an ultrasound and the Dr. never said anything was wrong. So im just curious as to what it could be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having extreme pain in the side of the abdomen after eating food. You are also having pain above the belly button. Your symptoms are indicative of peptic ulcer, gallstones, mesenteric artery ischemia, celiac disease, pancreatitis, lactose intolerance, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP and get all required tests and investigations done. Get treated at the earliest.

Avoid taking oily food, junk food, trans fat, refined flour, full fat dairy products, red meat, etc. Prefer to take boiled food over fried or oily food. You can take antacids or PPIs, one SOS when needed to avoid pain abdomen. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
