What Does Fever Along With Abdominal Pain And Chills Indicate?
a 36-year-old male presents to the emergency department complaining of fever and chills on and off for the past week. He also complains of bloating and diffuse abdominal pain 4/10, but goes up to a 9/10 when someone touches it, a dry cough, and a headache that only hurts in the front of his head. Today his fever was 103. His wife states he hasn’t been eating anything lately nor has he been acting like himself. He has a family history of hypertension, stroke, and diabetes. He is having confusion and hallucinations at times.

36 year old male having severe pain in abdomen that there is tenderness on the scale of 9/10, fever, chills and headache indicates one of the following reasons:Perforation of a hollow viscuss like intestine.Inflammatory disease like appendicitis or diverticulitis.Enteritis and so on.This can be diagnosed by the following:X-ray of abdomen in standing position to see for air under diaphragm is the simplest and cheapest way to know whether there is any perforation or not.CT scan of abdomen.Tests of blood, urine and stool.Clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon, correlation with reports and surgery if urgent or medical management as per the diagnosis made.
