Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Fever Along With Chills And Body Ache Indicate?
I had a fever (100.7 F) yesterday with chills and feeling achy, but no fever/chills or feeling achy today. Decreased appetite, nausea, and one episode of vomiting yesterday. I also woke up yesterday with a rash on my front and back torso, upper arms, and upper thighs. I haven t eaten anything or taken any different meds than my usual, so doubtful I m experiencing an allergic reaction. Is this most likely a virus? Do I just treat the symptoms?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
My thoughts and suggestions are as below. Fever, chills, aches followed by skin rashes is mostly suggestive of viral fever if the appearance of skin lesions is like exenthema. Since you must be taking your routine medicines for a long time, it is difficult to say that it caused allergic reactions so late; usually not known to occur and if at all is very rare. Hence take symptomatic medications and consult your Doctor to get a confirmed diagnosis , get investigated if required and get an appropriate prescription based medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
