Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Foamy vomiting is seen in the following conditions:
1) Eating too many fatty and acidic foods
2) Stomach infection
3) Hiatal hernia
4) Candidiasis
5) Gastroesophageal reflux

As it was only a single episode you don't need to panic. Just wait and watch . I recommend the following:
1) Watch carefully about the child's activity, hunger and sleep and respiration
2) If the child gets dehydrated or if the vomiting continues please take him to a pediatrician
3) Avoid lying posture of the child immediately after giving food
4) Avoid heavy fatty foods and give more of fruits and vegetables
5) Replace electrolytes that are lost in vomiting

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Neonatologist Dr. Dr. Jinela Desouza's  Response
Hi,

It's quite a gastro infection for children to vomit, so it's totally acceptable. You take syrup Emset prior to food. It will help, that child might also have tonsillitis which makes it difficult for them to swallow and they end up removing the food they have eaten. Just get the oral cavity checked up once with your pediatrician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
