What Does Foul Vaginal Odor Indicate?

Hi I have a strong smell coming from my vagina. It is not a fishy smell but a foul smell all the same. I have been for swabs for infection which were clear and I have not changed sexual partner. Last year i had a cervical ablation could it be linked to that?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think it could be Trichomoniasis vaginalis infection.Though it is a sexually transmitted disease and you had no change in sexual partner,I would still suggest you to see a physician.I do not think there could be any association to cervical ablation since it was also done a year ago. Adopt a healthy vaginal hygiene and avoid any vaginal douching because vagina has its own pH which could be disrupted by excessive cleaning disturbing the normal vaginal flora and causing infection.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
