Hi,
As you have mentioned your daughter has
chest infection 2 weeks prior to this
X ray.
I want to know -
1) what was her complaints when she was diagnosed as having chest infection.
2) Whether chest X ray was done at that time.
3) Treatment received during that episode and duration of treatment.
4) At present had she any complaints.
If at present she do not have any respiratory complaints (like cough, cold, breathing difficulty, fever), there is no need to worry just observe her for development of any new symptoms and if in between there are no new symptoms repeat chest X ray after 2 weeks as your doctor has advised.
What ever the changes in current x ray are suggestive of possible resolving
pneumonia which may possibly get completely resolved over next 2 weeks
If she develop respiratory symptoms as above or there are persistent changes on chest X ray after 2 weeks then she need to under go
blood test like
complete blood count, ESR, CRP, sputum examination if productive cough and depending on it appropriate antibiotics may be needed.
