3 months ago I came back from uganda Africa where I was exposed to mosquito bites, contaminated water and possibly food. 2 months ago I became very sick with severe headache, nausea, chills, night sweats and fatigue. I was tested for malaria and other possible tick diseases... all negative. I even had a Ct scan done. I slowly started regaining strength with the major symptoms coming to an end other than a slight residual headache which could be controlled by relaxing. Two weeks ago, I felt almost normal, but a week ago the severe symptoms returned along with a raised temperature of 102 at night. The last 3 nights I have had severe night sweats, but the chills, fever and headaches are now for the most part gone. Two weeks ago I took a malaria treatment from Uganda called P-Alaxin that was made in India. Up to this point I have not been checked for intestinal parasites. Also, I have had all the shots for overseas travel to Africa. I was wondering if my doctors here in the U.S. could be missing something? My African companion was sick also, and his Kenyan doctor thought it was something he got while at lake Victoria.
