I am a 39 year old who, after undergoing endometrial thermal balloon ablation approximately eighteen weeks ago to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding during my cycles, is still experiencing heavy bleeding during my cycles each month. I have tested negative for endometriosis, cystic fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and other related diagnoses. This month, around the time of my cycle (which started today), I started to lightly spot in the morning, which then suddenly stopped. In the afternoon, I noticed that I had shed a large piece of vaginal tissue, which was relatively white in color, but have had no other bleeding or spotting today. I am recently remarried, and do not use birth control, as I was informed by my doctor that after undergoing the endometrial ablation I could no longer have children, (although we are not opposed to having more children). For peace of mind, I still took a pregnancy test four days ago, which yielded a negative result. Is pregnancy a potential cause of this vaginal shedding? Is it still possible to get pregnant after my endometrial ablation?
