What Does Heavy White Discharge From Belly Button During Pregnancy Suggest?
Im 30 weeks preganant and having a heavy white dough-like discharge coming out of my belly button..its not smelly and belly is not hurting.. I can never take out the whole thing.. It seems to be like a stretching string in there.. Sorry for grossing anybody out
Leaving the belly button unclean can allow harmful bacteria to overpower the helpful ones and cause an infection. Any swelling or bulge, fever or vomiting should be ruled out.
Antibiotic creams can be used.Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and gently rub the surfaces inside your bellybutton after which use a fresh one dipped in water to avoid any dryness due to alcohol.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
