Hi,

It is not mentioned which part of intestine is having the changes. Heterogenous echogenicity and border irregularity can suggest inflammation of bowel wall, as in inflammatory bowel disease or chronic infections there(just examples only).

If you have no symptoms like recurring abdominal pain or altered bowel habits, this is likely an insignificant and incidental finding. Anyhow, your doctor will discuss you in detail, as I am not aware of the full clinical picture.

Regarding missing periods, there is no contributing structural abnormalities seen in the scan- uterus, ovaries and related structures are normal. So this may indicated a transient hormonal disturbance, which can be treated with the help of a gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
