Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, Hemoglobin or HGB is normally variable to a mild extent. If the value is above 18g% I would be worried of a condtion called as polycythemia. Otherwise even upper limit of 15.5 is normal in males and 14.5 is normal in females. This indicates good nutrition and your WBC also indicates the same thing, as it is within normal limits TSH low is the important thing in the report. It is usually low when TSH is not necessary for stimulation of thyroid, or if there is pituitary hypothalamus abnormality. If you are not on treatment with thyroid hormones, then T3 and T4 values, if increased could mean that stimulation was not necessary. Thyroid is very important hormone. Do get T3 and T4 tested as normal levels are necessary. Hope this helps. Any further queries, happy to help again. Dr. Jyothi BL
