i just found out today that i have bilateral terminal hydrosalpinx through HGS what may be the cause and will i get a treatment without surgery? ihave been marriend for 4 years now without conciving i really do not believe i have been pregnant before because i have not once even missed my periods..
Hello, Bilateral terminal hydrosalphinx means that both your fallopian tubes (the tubes that carry your eggs from your ovaries to the uterus) is blocked with some kind of fluid. This inturn is preventing you from conceiving as fertilization takes place in the fallopian tube. The condition might need a surgical procedure to correct it. with IVF procedures these days getting pregnant won't be a issue and is considered the treatment of choice for infertility in such patients. Without correction hydrosalphinx has increased risk for ectopic pregnancies (fertilization occurring outside the uterus).
