Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain you are suffering from ORAL
SUBMUCOUS FIBROSIS [OSMF] in which there is formation of thick fibrous bands of fibres below the mucosa of the cheeks which causes stiffening of cheeks leading to reduced mouth opening..
There can also be burning in mouth even with little spicy food due to mucosal atrophy as well as blanching of the mucosa..
The first thing that you have to do is to completely withdraw from chewing tobacco as OSMF is already a
PRECANCEROUS CONDITION and can transform into
oral cancer if not taken care of..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he/she can very well diagnose the condition clinically..
In case of OSMF he/she can advise you chewable steroid pellets like EFCORLIN three to four times a day..
Application of steroid based ointment like Kenakort has to be done over the affected areas..
Intralesional injections of Hyluronidase once in two weeks that helps in breaking the fibres and steroids like
Hydrocortisone is given directly below the mucosa over the fibres once every week..
Antioxidant like Lycopene has to be taken once a day..
Colchicine tablets twice a day is advised..
Avoid hot and spicy food, alcohol, tea and coffee..
Maintain a proper
oral hygiene..
Mouth opening exercises like blowing cheeks and opening mouth under limits of pressure tolerance has to be done..
In case if the mouth opening is extremely reduced say less than even one finger or around 2 to 3mm then
surgical treatment is done but complete recovery is not possible even with surgery.
Hope this information helps..
