What Does Inconsistent Result Mean In Test Report?
Results came back from doctors as inconsistent-no action taken? This is what the receptionist told me and she couldn't explain to me what does that mean as she said she needed to speak to the doctor first? What does this mean as I didn't get a chance to call her back to see what had the doctor say?

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
Well, medical reports are professional communication between doctors and possibly a receptionist has no right to open, read and interpret it! One also should not support such actions...! It is simply unethical and may create great misunderstandings...
Some doctor must had sent you for testing; the report is only for his professional use and he is supposed to forget about it when out of his chamber; please ask the reporting doctor only if any explanation is needed, preferably with written application!
Anyways, you might give the details of your reports for such explanation; however, as per your description 'inconsistent-no action taken'....I must comment that the test did not support any diagnosis in your case!
Better share the reports with HCM for confirmation and to relieve your concerns!
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
