What Does Inflammation Around The External Carotid Artery Indicate?
I have an inflamed linear region in the area of the external carotid artery. There is swelling and tenderness subcutaneous region approximately 3 mm in width and 5 cm in length just anterior to ear extending downward & behind jar joint. It arose within past 24 hrs. What concerns should I have & remedies?

Dear how do you know that inflammation around carotid artery?? until MRI or ultrasound is done it is difficult to say where is the inflammation.
it may vasculitis or infection or rash.
until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
