Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have some questions about my female cycle. For the last 6 years I have kept close track of it and it s been very consistent. March of 2015 I gave birth to my first child. After her birth my cycles came again and were regular. My husband and I recently decided to try for another baby. June was our first month. My period was due July 8th. I started bleeding on July 4th. Being 5 days early is very odd for me. In the first few days it appeared to have some small clots in it. Bleeding was bright red and of average flow. Now flow is very little, hopefully coming to an end. I have now been bleeding for 7 days, when I usually only do for 5-6. I ve also had some pain in my upper abdomen. The pain lasts for a short time and goes away. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? My first thought was implantation bleeding but now I m wondering if a very early miscarriage could be the cause? I have not yet taken a pregnancy test.
I think you need to do an ultrasound to check for fibro myoma or thickening of endometrial lining which may be the cause of bleeding. The treatment depends on the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
