What Does Inter Menstrual Bleeding When On Lutera Indicate?
I am on the pill lutera as my form of birth control. I am in my second week of my cyle and bleeding. I have been on lutera for over 3 years. This has happened before when I haven t been consistent in taking it. I am on a more regular schedule of taking it now for three months am still not taking it same time at night but always at night. Could I be pregnant? Or is this a side effect of not taking it same time every night?
Lutera is the combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains two hormones namely progestin and estrogen. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg during the menstrual cycle. Hormonal contraceptive pill like Lutera is a common cause of vaginal bleeding or inter menstrual bleeding between periods. If they do cause irregular bleeding, it usually only occurs for the first three months of using Lutera. If this effect persist or worsen, consult your doctor promptly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
