Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Intermittent Numbness In My Left Hand While On Sotalol Indicate?
I have arrhythmia (AF) which is treated with sotalol 40mgs BD. The reason for the low dose is that I have a normal blood pressure and a slow resting pulse. I have noticed that. I have intermittent numbness in my left hand at night. This is quickly relieved if I take deep breath which I hold in for a while, slowly breath out & repeat this one to two times. Would this be due to poor circulation as a result of a slow pulse?
Possibly. If your heart rate and blood pressure are low, there probably is no need for sotalol. You should ask your cardiologist about the possibilities of trying another anti-arrythmic drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
