What Does Irregular Heart Rate With History Of Neurofibromitosis Indicate?

My heart feels strange sometimes. Sometimes it beats to hard it feels like its going to beat out of my chest. It sometimes has an uneven beat or it skips a beat. I also have anxiety attacks for no reason sometimes. I am a 32 year old male and of a healthy weight. I am very active. I do have neurofibromitosis.

Hello,

Most probably these are ventricular premature complexes. These are ectopic or extra beats. These are usually benign and not life threatening. These are frequently associated with MVP, also caffeine, alcohol, thyroid problems may aggravate these. So before going ahead, we need to confirm it.

Since these are not frequent ECG may be normal, so in that case you will need 24 Holter monitoring which can diagnose these if the ECG is not informative. You should also get a thyroid test done. You all need beta blockers like Metoprolol to keep these under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
