What Does Irritation In The Vagina Indicate?

I am 42 year old, Black female, and I have been experiencing some discomfort in my private area (vagina). I have been taking aleve, for the last two days because my back, right shoulder and neck have been bothering me, what could be causing this irration? Unfortunately, I did not know there was a cost to this.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Most common cause for vaginal irritation is dryness and infection. So drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid moisture and perspiration in private parts. Keep proper hygiene of private parts. Wear only cotton undergarments. Apply lubricant jelly in vagina. Avoid sexual intercourse for few days. You will mostly improve with all these in 2-3 days. If not improving then consult gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
