Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What does it mean when a doctor says you have an extra protein in your blood? This was the result of a blood test I had last week. I tried to get back in to his office today to have another blood test - also a urine test; but I was too late. So i haven't had the second blood test yet. I have an actual appointment with the doctor on Wed. the 14th. I am frightened to death that an extra protein might mean the C-word. I am a 74 year old healthy woman who is not taking any drugs and trying to keep it that way. Thank you for any advice you can give me. My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY Sorry, I did not realize that there is a charge. I will have to wait till next month when I might still need an answer to this or several other questions. I am on a very fixed income. I am trying to get a job so that I will have more income than just my retirement, but no one wants to hire you when you are 74. Thank you for your trouble.
