What Does Itching In The Legs While Suffering From Prostate Cancer Indicate?

An 84 year old man with protate cancer that has spread to the bones and would not stand up to chemo. Now itching. Started on the legs, has moved to the torso, Complained of itching on scalp. No bumps or redness seen. Does ot respond to hydrocotisone cream. I am not trained medically. The hospice workers don t know what else to give him. I think it is symptomatic of the cancer going all over him. Is that a possibility?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms seem to be related to an alleric reaction from chemo.
I suggest you to go to the emergency room for further evaluation.
Meanwhile you can use antihistamine medication for relief.
You can also use calmine lotion.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
