What Does Itching On The Scalp Indicate?

My scalp itches and several spots have become irritated. I had a doctor look at them and she said they were just age spots but they itch and yes I color my hair. I have colored my hair for many years and this irritation started a few months ago. Am I just getting too old to color my hair? I m 75.

Hello there. I have read through your question and understand that your scalp itching is most likely due to the hair dye you are using. I would advice you stop using the hair dye for a few months and see if you are better. mean while you can apply a steroid cream like mometasone to relieve the itching. If you still don't see any improvement please consult a dermatologist. I hope that answers your question. Wishing you good health.
