What Does Itchy Rash On Body After Taking Wellbutrin Suggest?
My friend is 65. He takes few drugs i.e. Wellbutrin and Synthroid. 2 days ago he developed bright red color (like a sunburn) over his body. Not raised, not bumpy but somewhat itchy. His legs a brighter than face, arms and stomach. The areas with more sun exposure are the most red.

Hi,
There is no phototoxic or photo-sensitive known effect of Synthroid. Also, there are very few reported cases of Wellbutrin causing photosensitivity in medical literature. Also, there is no known interaction between Wellbutrin and Synthroid, if being used together. Otherwise, also this do not seem a case of photo-sensitivity, as there is no swelling, burning or blisters / vesicle like rash, which are usually present in Sun-sensitivity cases.
Hence, by all means, it seems a case of atopic allergy to atmospheric allergens (As present in open parts of body than covered parts). Hence, use of anti-allergic like Cetirizine or Loratadine etc. orally may be needed for this. Use of local steroid cream like Hydrocortisone may relieve the patient of symptoms of itching, redness etc.
