What Does Lacunar Infarction In The MRI Report Indicate?

Had MRI done for lt ear hearing loss, muffled sound, ringing in both ears and hearing heart beat heard in lt ear and soreness across bone behind lt ear. MRI showed opacifcation of left mastoid cells with T2 hyperintense signal in left mastoid cells. Remote lacunar infarction within the left anterior radiata. Incidental finding left frontal convexity 9 x 6 x 5 mm lesion compatible with small meningioma.

dear lacunar infraction is caused by blojage of deep penetrating arteries to brain.it is 2-15mm.most common sites are putamen and caudate nucleus,thalamus, cerebellum etc.these are symptomatic or asymptomatic commonly seen in hypertensives,diabetic patients, smokers and alcoholic patients.avoid smoking and alcohol intake, regular exercise,eat green leafy vegetables. if symptomatic please consult your neurologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
