Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My mother s brain MRI report says; Diffuse cerebral atrophy with old lacunar infarction in both basal gangliaMild small vessel ischemic change in the periventricular and subcortical white matter. No evidence of acute infarction nor other abnormal finding on DWI. What does this mean?
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that MRI (brain) is showing age related changes with old small infarcts, no fresh abnormality found.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
