I had a ekg done and it says comsider left atrial enlargement what does this mean. The printout says normal sinus rythem rate 74...normal PP axis, PR, ratr & rhythem. Consider left atrial enlargement....P V1 - .1- mV or more negative. Otherwise normal ECG.
It may mean increase in the size of the left atrium (Heart’s upper chamber on the left) It may be a conduction delay in the nerves of the heart… It could be a normal variation…. Examination and ECHOcardiogram will clarify See a cardiologist
