What Does Linear T2 Hyper Intensity In Semiovale Region Mean?
I got the result of MRI scan. The result of impression is Linear T2 hyper intensity in right centrum semiovale region following grey matter signal intensity with dilated body of right lateral ventricle suspicious heterotopia . Could you please explain that?
There is an area in the brain where grey matter is present in an unusual location. This is not a dangerous illness and often since birth. The dilated body of right lateral ventricle is also most likely developmental. These features do not usually affect the patient much, some may have seizures for which they need to get investigated in detail. This cannot be corrected by surgery or medications. Any seizures need to be controlled.
