What Does Liquor Inadequate And Oligohydroannios In Ultrasound Mean?

My wife is 28 weeks pregnant and yesterday when we go to doctor for regular check up her weight in reduced by 2 kg in one month from 56 to 54 and when doctor take her sono graphy / ultrasound she wrote liquor inadequate and OLIGOHYDROANNIOS. Please help me

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Your wife may need emergency consultation with the gynecologist. The amount of fluid around the developing baby is less and this can be serious for the unborn child. The reason fro such an occurrence may not always be known. It is a difficult situation and all attempts should be made to continue the pregnancy under strict supervision of doctors which may require hospital admission. There is possibility of premature birth and you must go to a hospital having facilities to manage premature births.
