Hello, I have following blood test result and I m concerned about low MPV (6.3) and high RDW-CV what does it mean? Hemoglobin 12.0-15.5 g/dL - 11.5 MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin) 26.5-34.0 pg - 24.9 MCHC 31.4-36.0 % - 32.4 MCV 80-98 fL - 77 MPV 7.2-11.7 fL - 6.3 Platelet Count /L 150-450 x10ˆ9/L- 267 RBC 3.77-5.16 x10ˆ12/L - 4.63 RDW-CV (Red Cell Distribution Width) 11.5-14.5 %- 15.5 WBC 3.2-9.8 x10ˆ9/L - 5.3

The complete hemogram shows low hemoglobin and high RDW.
This picture is seen in iron deficiency anemia.
I suggest you to get iron studies to assess the iron levels in body.
Platelet count is within range so low MPV is not of much concern.
