What Does Low Fetal Growth During Last Trimester Indicate?
My wife is 31 week pregnant,on today s U/S it noticed that baby is growing less than one week i.e 30 week.My doctor advised to take 6 dose of protein drip.weight is 1300 gm now.is there very much problem in that??how beneficial is taking protein drip.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Fetal growth could progress slowly due to maternal malnutrition of proteins as providing some of the amino acids like Arginine are essential for optimum fetal growth. Kindly ask your wife to take the protein supplementation by means of drip as advised which would replenish and provide essential amino acids required for fetal growth and development. Kindly follow up for the progress by subsequent ultrasound scan. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best for a healthy outcome.
