What Does Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion In PAP Test Indicate?
I had a pap test done last week and the result came out that i have abnormal lsil. I have pain ans spotting blood when urine. And also fishy smell. These symptoms occur after intercourse. Without intercourse these symptoms does not occur. Please inform. Could i be having cervical cancer?
Low-grade squamous intra-epithelial lesion (LSIL) is a common abnormal result on a Pap test. It means that your cervical cells show mild abnormalities. A LSIL, or abnormal Pap result, does not necessarily mean that you have cancer. HPV or Human Papilloma infection can cause these abnormality. LSIL may clear on its own or take even 10 years to convert into carcinoma. Routine Pap smear must be done to rule out any malignant transformation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
