What Does Marginal Irregularity Of Anterior Corner Of Medial Left Clavicle Mean?
I had a 1.5 knot pop up on my left clavicle. The radiologist report says: Question marginal irregularity of the anterior corner of the medial left clavicle, without discrete bony destructive change, expansion, or obvious mass. What could possibly cause this knot? My dr said to let her know if it gets bigger; she had no explanation.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A knot like bony lesion measuring 1.5 cm arising from clavicle could be a cystic lesion or a bony growth. Absence of bony destruction rules out possibility of cyst. Cysts are characterized by formation of empty spaces separated by thin bony partition or septae. Absence of bone destruction also rules out malignancy. However, the growth of the bone needs to be monitored for increase in size or any other symptom like pain etc. The size and symptoms need to be monitored to look for development of cancer in the bony lesion. I suggest you to consult your referring doctor for regular follow up.
