What Does Medical Report Which Shows Both Kidney - No Focal Lesion Indicate?
Dear Doctor : My father running 78 yrs, hving bp 120/74, no sugar. Please advise your suggestion on basis of below comments in his medical report.Both Kidney - No focal lesion,Corticomedullary differentiation is lost, no calculus. PCS & ureter are not dilated.impression : Bilateral contracted kidneys - medical ranal disease III, normal sonographic study of liver,gb,pancreas,spleen,bladder & prostate
Your father findings suggests chronic renal failure. It may be due to many reasons like chronic hypertension,diabetes mellitus,glomerulonephritis etc. You father need further investigations to assess function of kidneys so that treatment can be planned. Investigations include routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,Renal function test(includes serum urea,creatinine,GFR,creatinine clearance,serum calcium,potassium phosphorus,chloride,bicarbonate),urine RE/ME.Further investigations can be done if needed. Treatment depend upon findings.
