Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suddenly got a very dry mouth and a metallic taste in my mouth, it has lasted about 4 days now. I normally drink plenty of water and my diet hasn t changed. No matter what I eat or drink, the bad taste comes back and I feel like my stomach is getting bloated from drinking so much more water.
Brief Answer: Colitis is most likely your diagnosis.
Explanation: My opinion is that pain in the right lower abdomen has many differentials. Most common causes are colitis and appendicitis that may be acute or chronic. Pain that lasts for seconds in your condition makes appendicitis far fetched.
I suggest my patients the following clinical examination and abdominal ultrasound are essential. Some labs such as complete blood count and stool analysis may be ordered. The information provided by you is not sufficient to provide a good opinion. If someone comes to me with this condition I would ask them about another medical history such as diabetes, autoimmune diseases, etcetera.
Conclusion: I suggest you check with your physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mahmmad Gamal
