What Does Minimal Hazy Infiltrates In The Left Apex Indicate?
Hi, Good Day! to you Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar, i just want to ask what is Lordotic view shows minimal hazy infiltrates in the left apex. Consider minimal ptb of undetermined activity. This is the result of my x-ray and it suggest to follow up lordotic view after 2-3 weeks. what is that mean? thanks a lot
Your report suggests minimal hazy infiltrates in the left apex.It may be due to active infection like pneumonia, tuberculosis. Apico-lordotic view is needed to properly visualize apical areas because apical areas are covered by many bony structures like clavicle, ribs.
Empirically I suggest broad spectrum antibiotics to my patients in such condition. In non resolving cases,it is important to rule out tuberculosis. You also need routine hemogram,Mantoux test. PCR for T.B can be done if needed. Proper treatment depend upon findings.
Hope i have answered your query. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
