What Does Minimal Infiltrate In Upper Lobe In Chest X-ray Suggest?
hi good day!!i have question.. My husband is having xray yesterday for his 1 of requirments.. the result of the xray was this Pulmonary Koch s Infection. minimal infiltrate in the left upper lobe with at 1.7 cavity. i just wanted to understand whats the meaning of this because he has a previous illness before about tuberculosis..also known as TB.plz i really need the answer.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Your husband' s current x ray report says he is having cavity with fresh infiltration. These mean active TB infection.Cavitory lesion on chest x ray has high chances of having active, infectious TB. If he has previous TB than this can be a healed lesion. But for this you need 1. CT THORAX 2. Bronchoscopy and BAL ( Broncho Alveolar Lavage ) analysis for TB. CT THORAX gives excellent visualization of lung parenchyma and much better imaging modality than chest x ray. So if both are negative for TB than this is probably due to past tb infection.
