What Does Missed Periods And Negative Pregnancy Report Indicate?

Hello, My girlfriend has had implanon for a few years. she was on antibiotics about a month ago and we think she may have gotten pregnant during that time. She has missed her period and is almost two weeks late. she took two pregnancy tests, both of which came out negative. We are wondering if the implanon would cause a false negative. What should we do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Missing periods for 1 month is not too abnormal thing. Do pregnancy test in next month. If it comes negative and don't get periods then you have to USG (Abdomen and Pelvis). Wait for next month to get periods. I suggest you to consult gynecologist to discuss above condition to get ultrasound done.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
