What Does Moderate Amorphous Urates Crystals In Urine Indicate?
Hi I am 34 male n very obese. I got my urine report. Everything else is fine except WBC n epithelial cells which r occasional and moderate amorphous urates crystals. I feel a little heaviness in bladder for what I went for the test. Kindly guide further.
Amorphous urate crystals indicates uric acid crystals in the urine. It occurs due to increased level of uric acid in the blood causing increased excretion through the urine.It can be caused by gout, Lesch-Nyhan syndrome etc.There is increased risk of kidney stones. Its treatment includes reduction of uric acid level with drugs such as allopurinol, increased water intake and low purine diet. Your condition also need to rule out UTI. You need investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,Lipid profile,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations can be done if needed. You should also consult urologist.
