hello my 71 years old mom CT scan shows moderate cortical brain atrophy but she can remember every thing. we did the scan because of neck pain and not because of any memory loss or other changes. please help to know more about this, what does it mean.
it is an aspecific finding that suggests that, as well as other organs, the brain is getting older, and it's mass is reducing. However, this may be totally asymptomatic, as you are reporting. Thus, consider it a normal finding for this age. This is not related with the neck pain. Take care!
